FINISHING THE RACE

During a recent Special Olympics there where 9 contestants all lined up to run the 100 yard dash, and when the gun went off they began to run. Only 8 of the 9 were running though the 9th had fallen and began to cry the other 8 heard his cries and stopped, they turned around and went back to the one who had fallen.
When the 9th racer was ready to get up and race they all join together and ran the race together. They all crossed the finish line together. The crowd stood up and cheered!
On that day everyone worked together to accomplish the greater good. Now while some will say that everybody lost because no one won is missing the point of the story. Now true you can not always do everything together. there are challenges in life which demand some level of competition, but when life becomes the story of me, and how I need this and how I need that and you act in a selfish fashion, you never truly live your life to the fullest.
In a cut throat, back stabbing world where you live to win by defeating others you will ultimately lose. Because if you fail to love, no one will love you! and if you are mean, rotten, cold, self centered, or evil, people in return will be mean, rotten, cold, self centered, or evil back to you, some of which is real, and some of which is imagined you will not truly enjoy your life. Take for example in the gang world where there is a kill or be killed lifestyle, you may help in killing someone who is your gang’s enemy but once you allow yourself to become part of this world, many gang members themselves know it is just a matter of time until their number is up!
On the other hand when you love and do kind things, people will love and do kind things back to you. Now while you may be kind and people will be cold or rude back to you. And when you are cold and mean people will be kind and loving to you it is still overall a matter of what you put in you will get back out!
The deeper meaning is that when you plant negativity in your heart and mind you will harvest a miserable life. Even the few good moments of your life will pale in comparison to all the built up anger and frustration that you get from not being true. And when you plant positivity in your heart and mind you will harvest a full life of peace and enjoyment. Although you will still have a few bad times you will have a sense of happiness when your race is over!
So when you have finished the race, will the effort put into your run (life) be rewarded with the fact that you had many good times and many good friends, or will it simply be a time to complain about how miserable your life was?
God bless you, and may you have a wonderful day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
